About the brand
Since its establishment in 1982, as the Consumer Division of Police Credit Union, PCU Plus (Furniture and Appliances) Limited, has focused on delivering quality home furnishings, electronics, tools, and gift items at affordable prices.
The idea for Police Credit Union to establish a retail store was championed by police officers Esmond King and Benjamin Watson who identified that many of their colleagues could not access hire purchase due to Police Ordinance Chapter 11, No. 1, which stated that officers could not be sued for any debts incurred. At the time, this Ordinance prevented many officers from accessing credit or hire purchase arrangements from traditional retailers. With a goal of providing an affordable and accessible alternative, the enterprise was launched. Forty years later, PCU Plus Limited has expanded its business model to include tools, consumer electronics, and even financing for vehicle tyres, rims and batteries. With three locations nationwide and a fourth scheduled for Arima in early 2023, PCU Plus has built a loyal following by offering customers in Trinidad and Tobago affordable luxury and quality home goods at fair prices.
